What Calgary Employees are Saying
“Starting a business comes with a lot of unknowns. Evolution Legal made the legal side the one thing I never had to worry about for Vigée Dental. They set me up for success from day one, looked out for both me and my team, and did it all with incredibly reasonable fees and response times that honestly shocked me. I felt seen, supported, and well taken care of every step of the way. Truly grateful. Thank you!”
“Stephen provided me with much-needed advice and guidance during a very difficult period in my career. I could not be more impressed with their command and expertise of the law as it pertained to my situation. Their employees-first brand and reputation is well earned. If you are a worker facing an unjust working situation, you would be a fool to not contact Stephen for help.”
“Within a few minutes of chatting, Stephen had a great grasp on my current situation. Was attentive, and kept me at ease with his answers. Would absolutely recommend for any problems or questions labour related. You’ve got a client, and a great referral from me in the future sir!”
“I had some contract-related questions and requested a general contract review. Stephen Dugandzic did simply a great job and provided some valuable insights. A very client oriented firm. Highly recommendable”
Client Stories
Although past results are not always indicative of future results, and we can never guarantee a specific outcome in a case, the following are two real-world case examples demonstrating what we try and achieve for our clients (names are fictionalized).
Mike
Mike was a senior leader in his organization and earned total compensation of approximately $280,000 per year, inclusive of commissions. Mike had worked for his Company for less than three years. A year earlier, a change in Mike’s reporting relationship occurred and Mike had a new boss. Mike continued his strong performance under his new boss but things soon deteriorated in the working relationship. A month before coming to us, Mike had been placed on a performance improvement plan, something he disagreed with. After voicing his concerns about the performance improvement plan, Mike was informed by Human Resources that he had four weeks to find a new position within the organization or he’d be terminated. Mike was unable to find a suitable position within the organization, and his employment was terminated without cause.
Result: We negotiated an enhancement of approximately $23,000 to Mike’s severance
for a total of four (4) months’ pay in lieu of notice.

Jane
Jane came to us after her employment of 31 years was terminated on a without cause basis. Jane earned a base salary of $100,000 and was eligible to receive an annual bonus equal to 20% of her base salary. The Company’s termination letter initially offered Jane approximately 17.5 months of her base salary as severance and failed to provide for full payment of her annual bonus.
Result: We negotiated a 2-month enhancement to Jane’s severance to 19.5 months. Importantly, we negotiated payment of Jane’s full annual bonus of $20,000. Jane received an additional payment of approximately $37,000.
Time to complete: 2 weeks
